You hit a pothole on the R21 at 10pm. The tyre goes flat. You are twenty kilometres from the nearest garage, your spare is flat too, and your phone is at 18%. This is not a worst-case scenario in South Africa — it happens every week.

The GearBolt Portable Tyre Inflator plugs into your car's 12V socket and inflates a standard car tyre from flat to road-ready in under ten minutes. No garage, no guessing, no waiting for a stranger to help.

Be Ready for SA Roads

  • Compact and Portable — Fits in the boot or glove box — available the moment you need it, not at home in the garage
  • Digital Pressure Display — Reads your current tyre pressure in PSI, BAR, KPA, and KG/CM — no guessing, no separate gauge needed
  • Auto-Stop at Target Pressure — Set your target PSI and the inflator cuts off automatically — no over-inflation, no checking every 30 seconds
  • 12V Car Socket Powered — Plugs directly into your cigarette lighter socket — no batteries to charge or replace
  • Built-In LED Work Light — Bright enough to see what you are doing on the side of a dark road at night
  • Universal Valve Adapters — Fits standard Schrader valves (cars, SUVs, bakkies) plus adaptors for bicycles and sports balls

SA Potholes Are Not Going Away

South Africa's roads lose hundreds of millions of rands worth of tyre damage every year to potholes. The N1, N2, and R21 are among the worst offenders — and late-night blowouts on those roads are not uncommon. Having a tyre inflator in the boot means a slow puncture or a low spare tyre does not strand you. You top up, drive to a tyre fitment centre, and deal with it on your terms — not on the roadside at the mercy of the traffic around you. It also means checking your tyre pressure at home before a long trip costs you nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to inflate a flat tyre?
A completely flat standard car tyre (195/65 R15) inflates to 32 PSI in approximately 8 to 12 minutes. Topping up a low tyre takes 2 to 3 minutes.

Will it work on my SUV or bakkie tyres?
Yes. It handles standard passenger car tyres, SUV tyres, and light truck tyres. Very large commercial vehicle tyres are not recommended.

Do I need to watch it the whole time?
No. Set your target pressure on the digital display and the inflator stops automatically when it is reached.

Will it drain my car battery?
At 10 to 15 amps draw, it will use some battery capacity. If your car is off, we recommend starting the engine while inflating to prevent battery drain.
